Thyroid Gland

Thyroid Gland is situated above the larynx. It consists of two lobes present on each side of trachea.
It secrets two harmones. 

Disorders Of Thyroid Gland 

1. Hyperthyroidism 

Hypersecretion of thyroxine(A harmone which is secreted by thyroid gland) increase heart beat, blood pressure, excessive sweating and loss of weight. 

2.Hypothyroidism

Hyposecretion cause goiter. This disease becomes prevalent among the people living at high altitude because they do not have sufficient iodine in their diet. 

Thyroid Disease 

Symptoms Of Hyperthyroidism:

1. Weight loss. 

2.Increase or decrease hunger. 

3.Pulse rate becomes 100-120.

4.Blood Pressure increases. 

5.Your temperature will be increases. 

6.Skin become dry. 

7.Bones become weak. 

9.Hyperthyroidism patients are mostly experienced with digestive disorders like constipation, diarrhea and acidity etc. 

10.It will also affect the urinary system. 

11.Anger will increase.

12.You may feel depressed and anxious. 

Symptoms Of Hypothyroidism 

1.Laziness. 

2.fever. 

3.Cold and flu. 

4.Weakeness. 

5.Patients wants to sleep more. 

6.Weight gain. 

7.Patients want to be alone. 

8.Patients mostly feel cold. 

Treatment Of Thyroid Disease 

1.Consult your doctor and take this disease seriously. 

2.Check your iodine levels first and then take the supplements of iodine (150 mcg) daily. 

3.Selenium supplements are also important for patients having thyroid diseases because they are antioxidant. You can take 50-100mcg  selenium tablet daily. 
Selenium is also present in foods like mostly in nuts, chicken, beef etc

4.The 3rd one is zinc. Zinc is important for t3 and t4 harmones. Zinc is in chicken, beef and yogurt etc
If you want to take supplements then take 40-50mg zinc tablet daily. 

5.Through research it is proved that the patients of  hypothyroidism have low levels of vitamin D. So they should take vitamin D supplements 5000 IU daily. 
You should also increase your vitamin D levels by adding vitamin D to your diet. 

6.You can also use probiotics it is easily available in pharmacy or you can also use Greek yogurt. 

7.Another ingredient  is Curcumin which is present in turmeric. So you should use turmeric in different ways. 

Food which you should avoid:

1.You should avoid soy foods. 

2.Don't eat junk foods. 

3.Do not eat bakery products and those foods in which sugar level is high like cakes, jellies, chocolates etc. 

Supplements which you should avoid:

1.If you use antacids due to you acidity then avoid it because it contains magnesium and aluminum. 

2.Tea and coffee also nagitively affect on you thyroxine medicines so if you want to take coffee or tea then take them after 2 hours of medicines. 

3.Apple cider vinegar is good for hypothyroidism patients because it helps in their weight loss. But do not take thyroxine medicines after using apple cider vinegar.
